Smart Action Camera
The idea for this project came from the frustration of using a GoPro camera to film my friends while skiing or mountain biking. I found that it was very difficult to keep the subject that I was filming in the frame and often lost a shot because I had to focus on where I was going rather than where the camera was pointed.
My idea was to make a camera that could identify objects or people and follow them automatically. This would allow users to attach the camera to their helmet for example and film their friend without having to worry about the camera. I also discovered that the camera would be good for filming yourself. A user making a DIY video for example could set up the camera in a workshop and have the camera track him as he moved around to different tools or work benches.
