Motion Time Lapse Photography
This project evolved out of my interest in time lapse photography. After seeing a number of stunning motion time lapses I resolved to try and capture one of my own. I was surprised at the cost and complexity of the tracks that most photographers used to guide their cameras. I was curious if there was a way to reduce the amount of equipment and perhaps design a system that was more adaptable. After talking with a number of professional photographers through Vimeo I made several prototypes. The design uses lines that are strung between two objects, rather than tracks in order to guide the camera. This means that the length of the shot is no longer limited by a track and the whole system can be placed in a small backpack.
